The Chinese Proficiency Tests, Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi or HSK, are The People's Republic of China's only standardized Chinese tests for non-native speakers.
HSK New version: Since March 2010, the new HSK version has been launched.
Structure - After the completion of HSK.HK level 3 course, test takers should understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc, can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where Chinese is spoken, can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest, can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
Skills required - 600 words (about 623 characters)
Part A: Listening 35 minutes
Part B: Reading 25 minutes
Part C: Writing 15 minutes
